Raising standards: EU Strategy for Danube Region launches online survey to improve border controls on the Danube In order to harmonize procedures at border controls, Priority Area 1A of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region has launched an online survey on border controls. The survey, aimed at shipping companies and vessel operator who are the first to be affected by border control procedures, is available in eight languages.

On 11 November, 100 participants, among which project partners, stakeholders, EU representatives, representatives of the Hungarian Ministry of National Development and other experts directly or less directly involved in the project answered the invitation of the NEWADA duo project team and met for the project final event in Budapest.

Save the Date! MoVeIT! final event at EIWN Conference
On Thursday 11 September, MoVeIT! will present the findings of a three year research project on cost-effective modernisation of the inland waterway fleet. This final event will be organised in combination with the European Inland Waterway Navigation (EIWN) conference in Budapest. NEWADA duo will also be represented at the Conference by Project Manager Barbara Kéri who will speak about Transnational Cooperation for the Danube Navigation.
NEWADA duo Dissemination Officer among 252 presenters from 46 different countries at 33rd PIANC Congress in San Francisco
From 1-5 June 2014, NEWADA duo was represented among the many international experts from different areas of expertise at the 33rd edition of the PIANC Congress in San Francisco (USA). Selected among 260 papers from 26 nations, the NEWADA duo paper was presented, sharing know-how made in the SEE Area on stakeholder management and communication in Danube navigation. This year’s Congress was organized by the US national PIANC section. The Conference theme was “Navigating the New Millennium”, a promising title for a highly interesting event.
DoRIS mobile among top 10 best traffic applications for ITS Helsinki 2014
The new Danube navigation App for the Austrian stretch of the Danube, DoRIS mobile has been selected among the top 10 best applications in the ITS in your pocket competition of the ITS Europe Helsinki 2014 Congress. In view of the need for traffic applications that can work both in cities and rural areas, and in order to boost the development of this new area of Information and Communication Technologies, the Congress has launched a contest for new mobile applications for consumers. DoRIS mobile is ranked among the top 10 from 50 participants in 20 different countries.

Newada duo - Network of Danube Waterway Administrations - data and user orientation is an EU project, funded under the South East Europe Transnational Cooperation Programme which supports the waterway management authorities of the Danube riparian states in achieving a common level of service in waterway management along the Danube and ist navigable tributaries.
NEWADA duo first Press Conference to be held in Constantza
The first Press Conference of the EU project NEWADA will be held in Constantza on Thursday, 4 July 2013 at 10 Am. Organised by the Romanian partner ACN (Administration of Navigable Canals), the Press Conference will cover the importance of NEWADA duo for the South-East Europe area and for the Danube as a whole.
First Board of Directors Meeting for NEWADA duo
On 16-17 January 2013, the first of the series of NEWADA duo Board of Directors (BoD) Meetings was held in Semmering (Austria). This meeting is opening the first chapter in the specific approach of Board of Directors, the Steering Committee of the project. Such meetings give the Managing Directors of the Waterway Administrations in the Danube region the necessary supervisory tools to achieve a common level of service in waterway management for the benefit of the users of the waterway.
